SCQ Matches

St. Jago High vs Campion College

  Published on 2017-03-16

The second Quarterfinal Match of the 2017 saw a clash between 4 th seeded St. Jago High and 5 th seeded Campion College, both strong contenders for the 2017 SCQ title. Only one of these schools could advance and after strong first and second round matches by both teams, this match was expected to be competitive.

St. Jago took the early lead, ending the Opening Challenge 9-7 and when they went 8-points clear in the Speed Challenge closing this segment 38-30, it appeared as if this was St. Jago’s match to lose. However, Campion was not willing to concede just yet and surged to tie the match 42-42 at the end of the Buzzer Challenge and set up a sudden death playoff.

Campion College lost 4-points after a query during the break and St. Jago was declared the winner of the match. Final Scores: St. Jago – 42, Campion College – 38. St. Jago will play Munro College in the Semifinals.

St. Jago High was represented by: Jamali Henry (captain), Gifton Wright, David Gayle and Javiah Hudson.

Campion College was represented by: Clinton Reid, Chantae Garrick, Stephen Griffiths and Desmond Edwards.
